Before 1994, O.J. Simpson's greatest contributions to the culture were threefold: his record-breaking, award-winning career as a running back in college and professional football; his stint as a broadcaster and commercial pitchman, most notably running and hurdling through airports for Hertz rental cars; and as The Naked Gun films' detective Nordberg, a victim of nonstop slapstick calamities.
