LONDON — WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange said he will accept arrest by British police on Friday if a UN group decides that his more than three years inside the Ecuadorian embassy in London don't amount to illegal detention.
In a statement posted to the WikiLeaks Twitter account around 3 a.m. GMT Thursday, he said he will exit the embassy at noon Friday to accept the arrest if he loses his case against the UK and Sweden, but if the state is found to have acted unlawfully he expects the immediate return of his passport.
