Current rumors surrounding Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy Note 6 paint the device as an absolute monster: 6GB of RAM, Snapdragon 823, 5.8-inch QHD display and more. Which means it’s set to be quite possibly the most expensive phone Samsung has ever released. Realizing this may alienate a portion of its user base, Samsung may be planning a more budget-friendly variant of the Galaxy Note 6 with specs to match.
According to the rumor, this Galaxy Note 6 (“lite,” “air,” “Note 5 SE,” or whatever you want to call it) would still come with a 5.8-inch display, but it would be 1080p, powered by 4GB of RAM and a Snapdragon 820. In other words, this is like a Samsung Galaxy S7 in a larger shell, which means performance should be awesome. In fact, pushing a much less dense display, it might even be better than the rumored original Galaxy Note 6.
Of course, none of this is set in stone, but it would certainly make sense for Samsung to take this route. If previous releases are any indication, we can expect to see the Galaxy Note 6 released sometime this fall.
