Last year at IFA, Samsung unveiled the Gear S2 smartwatch. Now it looks like the company’s gearing up to announce the S2′s follow up at IFA 2016.
Samsung has begun sending out invitations for the company’s event at this year’s IFA, which takes place around the beginning of September every year. In Samsung’s case, the event will take place on September 1, and the invitation seems to give away that Samsung will be showing off a new Gear S smartwatch.
The invite doesn’t say that it will be called the Gear S3, of course, but that seems to be a logical conclusion. Whatever changes Samsung has in store for the new wearable remain a mystery for now, but considering the strides Samsung made with the Gear S2 last year, it’s likely the new wearable will be worth paying attention to.
