The 5G news just keeps on coming. OnePlus has announced that it will be launching the first 5G smartphone in Europe in 2019. The news comes as part of a partnership with European carrier EE, who will carry OnePlus’s 5G smartphone before any other carriers. OnePlus actually broke the news of a 5G smartphone in Europe earlier this year, but today’s news confirms two things, the partnership with EE and the use of Qualcomm’s spiffy new Snapdragon 855 processor.
Unfortunately, OnePlus has revealed little beyond that. There’s no word on what time of year the smartphone will arrive, what kind of specs it’ll have, or what it will be called. The news, or lack thereof, isn’t surprising, given that Samsung has also remained quiet on its 5G smartphone plans with AT&T, Sprint, and Verizon.
European readers, are you excited about the idea of a 5G OnePlus device on EE?
